Minister for Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khaliq ur Rehman chaired an important meeting to review issues related to the Sehat Card Plus program and the provision of speedy, transparent, and patient-friendly services across the province.
Director General Health Shahid Younus and the CEO Sehat Saholat Program Riaz Tanoli were also present in the meeting.
The Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure the establishment of one-window operations for Sehat Card services in all hospitals to facilitate patients. He emphasized that a one-window desk will streamline the entire process, improve coordination among staff, reduce delays, and provide swift facilitation to beneficiaries. He noted that the Health Department is committed to addressing gaps, eliminating hurdles, and resolving all challenges faced by patients in hospitals.
Addressing another key concern, the Minister issued strict instructions to ensure that the exact medicines prescribed by doctors are provided to patients without alteration. He expressed concern over reports of prescribed medicines being replaced with alternative formulas or versions and made it clear that any unauthorized change in medicines prescribed for treatment or surgeries will not be tolerated.
The Minister reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s and Health Department’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery, stating that reforms are underway to ensure quality services for the people of the province.
He added that all shortcomings—particularly those related to the Sehat Card—are being actively addressed and that the system will soon be brought to a fully controlled and improved position. He assured that the government is working day and night to enhance healthcare facilities and that the public will soon witness positive and tangible changes across the health sector.
