Minister orders release of Jamia mosques khateebs’ salaries

The provincial caretaker minister for information, religious and Auqaf Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel on Wednesday instructed the department concerned to release all pending salaries to Aaima (khateebs) of jamia mosques in the province.
“All outstanding arrears will be paid to the khateebs within 24 hours,” he added.
According to a statement, the caretaker minister also ordered the provincial Auqaf department for initiating work on a summary related to extension and pay scale of tehsils and districts khateebs.
The caretaker provincial minister gave these instructions in his office during a meeting with district and tehsil clerics from across the province.
Administrator of Awqaf Department Hamid Gaghiani and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Barrister Feroze Jamal said that it should be ensured that the Aaima of the province have received it within 24 hours, adding all outstanding issues of the khateebs would be resolved as early as possible. He assured the delegation that work on extension of Khatba and summary of pay scale will be started soon.
Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah also instructed the districts to write letters to give respect and honor to the khutba and to consult on necessary matters.
Earlier, Khatam Sharif of the Holy Quran was also organized in the office of the provincial minister, in which the district and tehsil Khateebs participated. Special prayers were also offered for the development and prosperity of the province.
