Srinagar (Online): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of his Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has called upon people to maintain religious harmony and brotherhood in the territory. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq asked them not to fall in the provocation trap of some miscreants, who were trying to stoke sectarian and communal tensions in Kashmir, KMS reported.
Denouncing the acts of these anti-unity forces in a particular area of the territory, the Mirwaiz in a statement said that the acts were harming sectarian and religious brotherhood in Kashmir and that all this was being done at a time when entire Kashmir was standing in unison and people were offering sacrifices for the Kashmir cause.
He said that certain Indian agencies had become active and were busy devising plans to set Kashmir afire by stoking sectarian and communal passions.
Stressing that for the past several months, Kashmiris had been offering selfless sacrifices and shown consistency in resolve while displaying unity toward the resistance movement, the Mirwaiz termed these sacrifices exemplary saying they had once again brought Kashmir issue to the limelight at the international level.
Mirwaiz said that the unity had unnerved the elements working against the interests of the people and the resistance movement, and they were now trying to stoke sectarian and communal tensions to create discord in Kashmir.
