KARACHI: The leaders, large number of members of UBG and representatives of Trade Bodies have expressed their great deal of concern and resentment on the present management of FPCCI for being involved in unbelievable mass misappropriation and embezzlement of FPCCI funds which is proved by the following facts. They said that such misappropriation, embezzlement and nepotism have never been seen in the past:- 1- Mian Mohammad Adrees former President FPCCI had completely renovated 4th floor and Ground floors of Federation house by spending Rs. 10 million from his own pocket. The present management has got the entire renovated work demolished without any justification and getting it done again at the expense of FPCCI amounting to Rs. more than 10 million without tender and approval of Audit and Finance Committee and Executive Committee of FPCCI; More pity is that the vendors for the renovation work have been hired from Lahore who have been called in Karachi at the expense of FPCCI which is very surprising and glaring gross misuse of FPCCI funds without approval of Executive Committee of FPCCI. The vendor is relative of office bearer of FPCCI;
Solar panel has been installed at roof top of Federation costing FPCCI more than 10 million without tender and approval of Executive Committee of FPCCI. The vendor is relative of former Vice President of FPCCI;
FPCCI management has purchased new Premises for FPCCI Regional office Lahore against Rs. 200 million. Rs 100 million has been paid from the exchequer of FPCCI while Rs. 100 million has been taken loan from bank.
How much interest FPCCI has to pay to the concerned bank on this loan which is beyond imagination. This decision has been made without approval of Executive Committee of FPCCI. On the previous premises of FPCCI Regional office the present management had spent more than Rs. 5 million on renovation;
The present management has got the entire Federation House whitewashed against substantial amount of Rs. 10 million without approval of Executive Committee of FPCCI and without tender; The last whitewashed was done only 5 to 6 years back. The FPCCI Head office has issued cash cheque of Rs. 10 million to an influential person in KP on the pretext of construction of FPCCI Regional office without approval of AFC, EC and GB members.
The travelling and hotel expenses so far for the year 2022 have gone beyond 3 million which is against the approved policy of General Body of FPCCI;
The expenses on account of lunch and dinners so far in the year 2022 have gone beyond Rs 3 million which is against the approved policy of General Body of FPCCI. All lunch and dinners are being arranged through only one restaurant owned by an office bearer of FPCCI.
The above all work was allocated to vendors who are relatives to the office bearers, without calling tenders and approval of Executive Committee and General Body.
The salary graph of the staff has gone beyond Rs. 20 million. Most of the staff are relatives of the office bearers hired on high salaries. In the period of UBG the salary graph was only Rs. 8 million.
