Mobile phone theft suspect arrested, cash recovered

Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested an alleged member of an organised mobile phone theft gang during an operation carried out in the Gulbahar area.
According to a police statement, the action was conducted on the special directives of senior officers and under the supervision of DSP Gulbahar Circle Ihsanullah Marwat, while SHO Gulbahar Police Station Adnan Khan led the operation.
The suspect, identified as Imran, a resident of Sheikhabad, was allegedly involved in stealing valuable mobile phones from citizens and later selling them in the market.
Police said the accused was traced and arrested through an investigation conducted using modern scientific and technical methods. During initial interrogation, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in several mobile phone theft incidents.
Officials said Rs100,000 in cash, believed to be the proceeds from the sale of stolen mobile phones, was also recovered from the suspect’s possession.
Police added that further investigation was under way and more arrests and recoveries were expected.
