MSs of hospitals directed to enhance performance

Provincial minister for health Khaliq ur Rehman on Tuesday chaired a high-level review meeting with Medical Superintendents (MSs) of government-run hospitals across the province to enhance hospital performance and service delivery.
The meeting, attended by Secretary Health Shahid Ullah Khan, DG Health Services Dr. Shaheen Afridi, and senior officials, a handout said.
According to the statement, the meeting was focused on accurate reporting of health data, administrative efficiency, human resources, infrastructure, and availability of medical equipment.
The Minister stressed that gaps between reported data and ground realities were unacceptable, and that the role of MSs was central to improving hospital management.
Medical Superintendents showing strong performance were appreciated, while officers responsible for negligence were held accountable.
The Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to revamp hospitals, strengthen administrative systems, and expand facilities under the provincial health reform agenda.
Khaliq ur Rehman directed MSs to mobilize their teams, maintain discipline, and ensure clear, measurable improvements in hospitals.
He assured full government support and said political interference in the health department has been significantly reduced.
The Minister instructed all Medical Superintendents to demonstrate visible improvement in service delivery and hospital management by the next review meeting.
