Gulberg Police on Thursday claimed to have solved a blind murder case within three days after the incident.
According to police, three days ago a person identified as Wajid Hussain was killed in Al-Noor Street area which falls in the limits of Gulberg Police Station.
Following the incident, a team led by SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq and composed of DSP Cantt Riaz Khalil, SHO Gulberg Qazi Akmal and Investigation Officer Salim Khalil was formed to track down the accused involved in the murder of the deceased Wajid Hussain.
During the investigation, it came to light that the daughter of the ill-fated Wajid Hussain and her husband Muhammad Junaid were involved in the crime.
Police claimed that the son-in-law and daughter stabbed his father to death over a land dispute. The case was registered on the complaint of Wajid’s son and finally police reached the prime accused and arrested them within three days.
The daughter and son-in-law of the accused have been arrested by police and during the initial investigation they revealed the facts behind the murder.
The murder weapon was also recovered from their possession and further investigation has been started, said police.
