The National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control at a meeting held here Friday under the Chairmanship of Rana Shamim Ahmad Khan, MNA approved “The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2017”. The Bill was moved by Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, MNA and the committee unanimously decided that the Bill may be passed by the National Assembly. The Committee considered “The Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2015” moved by Dr. ikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA and passed it with majority of the Committee. Dr. Arif Alvi and Mr. Kanwar Naveed Jameel objected the billand recorded their Note of Dissent.
The Committee also considered “The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2017” moved by Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, MNA and decided to defer the bill till its next meeting. The Committee also considered “The Islamabad Capital Territory Prohibition of Employment of Children Bill, 2017” moved by Ms. Shazia Marri, MNA and decided that the Bill be deferred till its next Committee meeting. The Committee did not take up the remaining agenda and deferred it till its next meeting.
