ISLAMABAD (INP): The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms (PD&Rs) recommended that the revised PC-I shall be submitted in two days by the Ministry of Defence to Planning Commission for Water Distribution Network of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board and Chaklala Cantonment Board based on Khanpur Dam water sources phase-III.
The meeting of the NA Standing Committee on PD&Rs was held under the chairmanship of MNA Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail here on Tuesday.
The Committee was informed that Rs. 16,085.10 million had been approved by ECNEC for Green Line Bus Transit System from Municipal Park, Saddar to KESC Power House, Chowrangi, Surjani, and Karachi and the project would be completed in the next year.
The NA Body was informed that Lowari Tunnel would be completed in June, 2017; it was informed that 85% development work of Lowari Tunnel had been completed till date.
The Committee was further informed that Rs. 140 million has been allocated in PSDP 2016-2017 for improvement and widening of Chitral, Ayun and Bumborate Road on the direction of Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by MNAs, Ch. Jaffar Iqbal, Dr. Asma Mamdot, Ms. Shazia Farid, Mrs. Shamas-un-Nisa, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Mr. Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Mr. Junaid Akbar, Mr. Qaiser Jamal, Sheikh Salahuddin, Mr Sher Akber Khan, Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din and Malik Ibrar Ahmed, MNA (special invitee), besides officials of Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform and Ministry of Communication.
