The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has started an inquiry against the officers and officials of Agriculture (Extension) department merged districts for awarding Rs 540 million contracts in violation of rules and regulation.
According to sources, last year the Department of Agriculture, Merged Districts issued tenders worth Rs 540 million.
However, several firms have raised objections and had alleged that the tenders were given to blue-eyed people.
“Whereas the competent authority has taken the cognizant of an offence committed by the Officers/Officials of Agriculture (Extension) Department, Merged Districts and others under the provision of NAO. 1999”.
After receiving complaints, the NAB-KP initiated a probe and issued a call up notice to officers of the concerned department. NAB also summoned owners of the firms who had participated in the tender process.
The department concerned has issued the tender in October 2020.
