LANDIKOTAL: Custom Authorities have foiled a bid to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics from Afghanistan and arrested the peddler,officials said on Saturday. Torkham Customs addtional collector Muhammad Tayyab and inspector Sadiq Akbar said that an empty truck(P-9742) coming from Afghanistan was stopped for checking at Torkham checking point. They said during search they recovered 400 kilograms Hashish and 250 kilograms opium from the hidden cavities of the truck. The officials said the worth of the seized narcotics is 70.5 million rupees. The driver identified as Shah Faisal also arrested and shifted him to jail for further investigation. It may be added here that Pakistan Custom officials at Torkham border crossing had also seized a huge quantity of narcotics items two weeks ago worth 140 million rupees. Our Correspondent
