The contractual employees of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Friday held a protest demonstration demanding regularization of their services.
The protestors holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands held a rally outside the Peshawar Press Club (PPC).
They were shouting slogans for a solution to their demands as early as possible.
Speaking on this occasion, the employees said they had been serving for the last 20 to 25 years but the NBP management was yet to regularize them.
The participants of the protest pointed out that their salaries were also not increased for the past many years.
They said that the government had issued a notification for their regularization but the management of the above-mentioned bank applied delaying tactics to implement the decision.
They accused the bank management for promoting and giving permanent status to newly inducted staff from outside but they have yet to regularize its own staff serving for many years on contract basis.
