Peshawar
Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, has expressed dissatisfaction over the aid allocated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for the province’s flood-affected population.
He stated that the Federal Government has abandoned the flood victims of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in their time of need.
The assistance provided by NDMA is akin to a drop in the ocean, comprising little more than a few tents and well wishes.
Barrister Saif emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has taken comprehensive measures using its own resources to support the flood-affected people.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister, the relief operations have been successfully concluded, and the rehabilitation phase is currently underway.
He further stated that the compensation for flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been doubled.
The families of those who lost their lives have been granted Rs. 2 million, while the injured have received Rs. 1 million in compensation.
