Power tariff all over the country including Karachi has been scaled up. Notification in this regard has been issued. As per media reports, electricity tariff has once again been raised for the consumers across the country including Karachi. National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued notification on raising power tariff by Rs 1.42 per unit under the head of monthly adjustment. According to notification the increase in cost of electricity has been made on the basis of monthly adjustment for the month of February.
This will be applied to the consumers through electricity bills for the month of April and the enhanced amount will be recovered this month.
Press release issued by NEPRA has said the decision will be applicable to the consumers of K-Electric as per government policy guidelines. However life line consumers and electric vehicle charging stations will stand exempted from this hike in tariff.
Earlier cost of the electricity was raised by Rs 1.63 per unit in the adjustment for the month of January.
