The National Youth Volunteer Network (NYVN) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, under the joint initiative of VSO and BARGAD with key support from Global Shapers and the Directorate of Youth Affairs organized a one-day cascade training under the ACTIVE Project on Saturday at the Directorate of Youth Affairs Peshawar.
Under the theme “Championing Change Through Youth Volunteerism,” the session gathered over 30 participants, including students, young professionals, and community leaders from across the province.
The goal was to enhance their understanding of key topics such as volunteering standards, social accountability, inclusive project design (with a focus on disability), and climate education.
Participants took part in interactive sessions, discussions, and practical activities that fostered collaboration, inclusivity, and leadership.
Maria, one of the participants, shared “This training was truly inspiring. It helped me see how young people can play a meaningful role in inclusive and sustainable development. Opportunities like this boost our confidence to lead change.”
Shahab, the training organizer, stated “Our aim is to empower youth with the tools and values they need to lead positive change in their communities.”
The day ended with a certificate distribution ceremony to recognize the participants’ dedication.
This initiative was part of the broader ACTIVE Project, which promotes accountability, climate resilience, transparency, inclusion, volunteering, and engagement, and aims to strengthen youth-led development across Pakistan.
