Oil prices go down

Oil prices edged lower on Friday as concerns about China’s growth and the US interest rates take the upper hand again. As of 1145 hours GMT, Brent, the international benchmark for two-thirds of the world’s oil, shed $0.36 (-0.43 percent) to reach $83.76 a barrel. The WTI, the main oil benchmark for North America, went down by $o.29 to $80.10 a barrel. However, the price of Russian Sokol increased by $0.98 to $78.52. Arab Light prices witnessed an increase of $1.02 (+1.17 percent) to reach $88.06 a barrel. On the other hand, the price for Opec Basket decreased by $0.86 (-0.98 percent) to $86.96.
