PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority conducted a major operation against the adulteration mafia in Peshawar, said a spokesman of the Food Authority here on Sunday. Food safety team raided a spice factory in Mirch Mandi, Chergano Chowk after receiving a tip-off, a Food Authority spokesman said. More than 4,000 kg of non-standard and harmful material in the preparation of Chape Keduran spices was exported and taken into government custody, a Food Authority spokesman said. He said, 200 kg of substandard and unhealthy spices were also seized from the factory and machinery seized, owners arrested, further legal action initiated.
