Awami National Party (ANP) Punjab General secretary Amir Bahadur Khan Hoti, said that ordinary Pashtuns are being harassed in Punjab under the guise of Afghan refugees. The harassment of Pashtun businessmen, students and residents in Punjab should be stopped.
He expressed these views while addressing meet the press program at Mardan press club, Press Club President Muhammad Riaz Mayar, Vice President Hidayat-ur-Rehman Hoti and General Secretary Pervez Khan were present on the occasion. Amir Bahadur Hoti added that ordinary Pashtun businessmen are being harassed in Punjab under the guise of Afghan refugees.
He argued that unjustified raids are being carried out on the homes of ordinary Pashtuns in Rawalpindi, Lahore and other cities, which is spreading fear and panic.
He said that among the Afghan refugees in Punjab, there are many people who are doing business on a large scale, their return should be in an organized and dignified manner, otherwise it will also affect the country’s economy. He said that Pakhtuns in Punjab are already facing many problems, most of the families identity cards blocked.
Students have difficulty in getting admission in educational institutions, while they cannot highlight their culture there, and now the current situation has further increased their problems.
Amir Bahadur said that PTI is a party that first attacks institutions and later apologizes to these same institutions. The founder of PTI has caused irreparable damage to the culture and traditions of Pakhtuns.
He argued that despite being a woman, Maryam Nawaz Sharif is running mega projects in Punjab, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is mired in the worst problems. He warned that if the harassment of Pakhtuns wasn’t stopped in Punjab then ANP will stage a protest rally outside Lahore press club.
