More than 540 patients benefited from a free medical camp organised at Northwest General Hospital II on Thursday as part of the hospital’s community healthcare initiative.
The camp, organised by Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre, provided free medical consultations and medicines to patients suffering from various ailments. Essential diagnostic investigations were also offered at subsidised rates.
X-rays and ultrasound services were provided at a 50 per cent discount, while other laboratory and diagnostic tests were made available at affordable rates.
Patients were offered consultations in a range of specialties, including general medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, general surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ENT, neurosurgery, nephrology, paediatrics and urology.
A team of consultants and specialists participated in the camp, including Dr Raja Irfan Qadir, consultant and head of orthopaedics; Dr Muhammad Hanif Afridi, medical specialist and gastroenterologist; Dr Nargis Gulab, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist; Dr Hamid Mehmood, consultant cardiologist; and Dr Muhammad Kashif Farooq, consultant infectious diseases.
The hospital said the initiative was part of its corporate social responsibility programme and aimed to make quality healthcare more accessible to people, particularly those who could not afford regular medical services.
It said such community-focused activities would continue as part of its efforts to provide healthcare services to people from all segments of society.
