Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that more than 7,77,000 flour bags have been distributed in Bahawalpur division so far while over two and half lakh families in Bahawalpur district have received free flour bags so far.
He shared this information during his Bahawalpur visit where he inspected Free Flour Distribution Centers established by the Punjab Government under the Free Flour Scheme on Wednesday.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz visited Dring Stadium, Government College of Technology and Eidgah Centres in Bahawalpur. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa and Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan were also present.
Talking on this occasion, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz said that a total of 24 flour distribution centers have been established in the district. “I am personally supervising the process of free flour distribution in Bahawalpur,” he added.
He said the instructions have been issued to flour mills to operate at full capacity immediately to meet the massive requirement of flour. “People can confirm their eligibility by sending a text message on 8070. Punjab government is providing free flour to every eligible person of the province”.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz further said that security, rescue and all relevant departments are playing their due role for public convenience at the flour distribution centers. “Separate counters for women and senior citizens are being made more effective”.
Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz appreciated the measures taken by the team of Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur for the smooth distribution of flour at free flour centers. “PITB application will be made more effective and easy for the convenience of deserving people of the province,” he added. He also inspected the application for distribution of flour.
