EXCESSIVE FARES DURING EID.

Islamabad: On the special directives of Inspector General of National Highways and Motorway Police, Riffat Mukhtar Raja, operations against transporters charging excessive fares are ongoing. A total amount of Rs. 60,76,886, collected as overcharged fares, has been refunded to passengers. Additionally, a fine of Rs. 307,314,00 has been imposed on passenger vehicles for carrying more passengers than their capacity. Travelers experiencing overloading or overcharging can report their complaints to the Motorway Police Helpline 130 In light of the increased travel rush during Eid, additional Motorway Police personnel have been deployed. Road safety briefings are being conducted at all toll plazas.
