Pak-Afghan officials hold flag meeting at Torkham border

To discuss matters of mutual interests’ flag meeting of Pak- Afghan officials was held here in Torkham on Tuesday.
According to the forces official, the moot was organized at zero point of the border and additional collector custom Muhammad Rizwan represented the Pakistani side while Commissioner Mustafa Cheshti headed by Afghan delegation.
Representatives of business, transport communities,officials of Khyber and joint chambers of commerce, custom department, administrative, forces and other concerned departments’ officials were also present on the occasion.
Issues like common trade, pedestrians’ movement, clearance of cargo containers etc at the border and other matters of mutual interests were discussed.
Leaders of the Pak-Afghan joint chamber of commerce asked the Afghan government to increase export volume of coal and decrease tax on the commodity as per the international market.
The Afghan assured the traders that export capacity of the coal would enhance.
Officials of the both neighboring countries agreed at retaining a peaceful environment at the crossing and clearance process of Afghanistan returned cargo containers would be further sped up.
The Pak officials appreciated initiatives of the Afghan border forces to halt smuggling of narcotics at the border.
The Afghan officials said that they wipe out child on the Afghan side of the border and urged the Pak counterpart to ensure complete elimination of child labor from Torkham.
