ISLAMABAD: Managing Director Pakistan Bait ul Mal (PBM) Barrister AbidWaheed Sheikh, in his special message regarding International Wheelchair Day said that they have distributed around 30,000 wheel chairs during last three years.
He stated that PBM is taking every possible step to make physically handicapped person became an effective part of the society, adding that it is quite unfortunate that every disabled one is refrained to utilize his abilities just due to lack of accessibility so it is our moral responsibility to facilitate them.
MD PBM shared that the incumbent government always endeavours for welfare and well being of ailing and persons with disabilities to play their positive role in the economic activity of the country. He further informed that to simplify the process of providing wheel chair to the deserving people, a computerized facilitation centre has been introduced in PBM through which eligible person could get wheelchairs without any delay and difficulty.
In connection with the day, MD PBM shared that persons with disabilities are blessed with special talent and skills and wheel chairs help their mobility removing physical hurdles from their life. Furthermore, he added that this day is also a tribute giving day to those philanthropists who volunteer their resources for giving wheel chairs to deserving people making the world accessible and ensuring a conducive working environment to contribute their skills in prosperity of the country.
