As Pakistan in a goodwill gesture on Sunday released 20 Indian fishermen who have been languishing in a jail here for the last five years for allegedly fishing illegally in the country’s waters.

The government of Pakistan has released 20 Indian fishermen among whom four are Muslims. According to details, the Pakistan government on Sunday freed 20 Indian fishermen who were incarcerated in Malir Jail, Karachi.
They would be repatriated to India through Wagah Border. The fishermen were arrested by the Pakistan marine force for unlawfully entering country’s territorial waters. The released fishermen batch is also included four Indian Muslims.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are still more than 500 Indian prisoners who are spending their days in the Malir Jail.
