On this auspicious occasion, The Centaurus mall management had the wonderful honor of hosting a picture exhibition organized by the UAE Embassy which was displayed to celebrate the glorious 50 years of the United Arab Emirates and the everlasting friendship between the two nations. H.E Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi (Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates) was the chief guest at the event and the event was inaugurated by H.E and the CEO of Centaurus Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan.
CEO Sardar Group of Companies Sardar Yasir Ilyas, emphasized on the strong bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan. He recalled the beautiful history between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates over the past 50 years and narrated on the strong bond shared between both of the brotherly nations. The UAE has been a brotherly country that has always contributed towards the growth of Pakistan. H.E Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi stated that 50 years might seem like a long time, but this is just the beginning of a long and prosperous friendship. He further stated that the UAE government has tried to provide support in every segment to make Pakistan a progressive country. As evident from the pictures of mosques, polio campaigns, development in both education and infrastructure are just a few of the many areas portraying the contributions of UAE towards Pakistan. Furthermore despite any Geo-Political Issue, the UAE has always helped Pakistan to prosper further.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan expressed his gratitude towards the UAE government and clarified how much of a huge role they have played in developing the health and education sectors of Pakistan. Further he also emphasized on the presence of His Excellencys entire team during the event which is sheer evidence of the friendly relationship between the two nations. The Pakistan Pavilion at the Dubai expo is another example of our strong ties. Pakistan can learn a lot from the hospitality, tourism, retail and automobile industry of the UAE. The way UAE has produced state of the art shopping malls, hotels, resorts, and Formula one racing track. If Pakistan can develop similar projects and attract groups from the UAE by forming JVs, then the sky is the limit and Pakistans economy can generate billions of dollars from tourism alone.
The event showcased monumental milestones throughout the history of both nations. Once both delegations had arrived, the event commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome His Excellency and other diplomats from the UAE Embassy. After everyone had viewed the artwork, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan presented His Excellency with a painted portrait. The event was attended by Mr. Rashid Abdul Rehman Al Zamar the chargé d’affaires of UAE Embassy, the newly appointed diplomatic attaché, members of the Islamabad business community and the management of the Centaurus.
