Pakistan grabs three bronze medals in 6th South Asian Sepaktakraw Championship

KARACHI
The 6th South Asian Sepaktakraw Championship was held in Colombo,Sri Lanka, from February 7 to 9, with teams from Pakistan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka participating. Pakistan competed in three events and secured bronze medals in all three categories.In the women’s Regu event,Pakistan’s team defeated Sri Lanka with ease, while the men’s Regu team lost their semi-final to Sri Lanka with scores of 15-13,
15-12, and 12-15.The Pakistan women’s team,led by captain Didar Rani, included Urooj Naz, Maryam Butt, Durre Najaf, and Iram Naz,
all of whom displayed impressive performances. The men’s team, captained by Muhammad Khalid, featured Sarfaraz Rahman, Farhan, Balaj Khan, Nauman Alam, and Anas Rahman, who also played commendably.Coaches Muhammad Saleem and Maryam Kerio praised the efforts of both teams, particularly the women’s squad, and expressed confidence that Pakistan will win medals
in the upcoming World Cup and King’s Cup later this year. Team head Deen Muhammad Kerio said the players lived up to expectations with their strong performances.The
achievement was warmly congratulated by Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation President
