Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has ordered NAB to file a reference against overseas Pakistani Commissioner Afzal Bhatti after hearing his stance.
CJP remarked that Pakistan is not that Country where who so ever comes , he devours and goes away.
As per media reports, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar took up for hearing the suo motto notice against the appointment of the head for Overseas Pakistani Commission on Friday.
DG NAB Lahore Saleem Shahzad presented the audit report in the court and informed the court that Afzaal Bhatti is not a Pakistani citizen.
On inquiring by Court, Afzal Bhatti told the court that by birth he is a British citizen.
CJP called Afzal Bhatti to Rostrum and asked how much salary he has been taking?
CJP recalled “ you all know that dam is being constructed; all additional salaries have to go the construction of this dam
DG NAB told the court during hearing that Afzaal Bhatti had served as the secretary of Nawaz Sharif and political secretary of Shahbaz Sharif and Afzaal Bhatti was not having the required experience for the appointment on the post of overseas commission.
Selection committee had given the names of 3 candidates to the chief minister of that time and after the approval of Shahbaz Sharif, Afzal Bhatti was appointed as Overseas Commissioner.
DG NAB also informed the court that Afzaal Bhatti has been taking the salary of Rs 5 lac.
CJP made clear that there is an offer for you that whatever additional you have received, you should return and directed NAB to file a reference after hearing the accused.
