LAHORE: Pakistan Railways on Friday announced to launch two new trains that would operate on Lahore-Rawalpindi route from September 16 and 19. Both the trains would have AC, Standard AC, and Economy classes, the notification read. According to a Railway Spokesperson, the trains would operate on the Lahore-Rawalpindi route with stops on Gujranwala, Gujrat, Chaklala railway stations. Earlier, the ministry had announced to resume operation on multiple routes after the flood water receded. Pakistan Railways on Thursday announced to resume train operations on the Sukkur-Lahore route from September 10 as the flood water receded in Sukkur, ARY News reported. According to the railways officials, the department decided to resume train operations on the Lahore-Sukkur route. Furthermore, routes from Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar to Rohri would also be resumed by September 10. DNA
