Rawalpind: Japan’s Special Representative of UN Secretary General for Afghanistan Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif here on Friday.
Matters related to security situation in Afghanistan and prospects for peace with particular emphasis on reconciliation process in Afghanistan were discussed during the meeting.
Japan’s Special Representative appreciated successes of ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb and acknowledged the sacrifices and efforts by Pakistani security forces for peace and stability in the region.–Online
