Reference seeks PTI chairman’s lifetime disqualification under Article 62(1)(f)
ISLAMABAD
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on Thursday filed a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha submitted the reference to ECP under Article 63.
The reference plead that the PTI Chairman did not disclose the gifts received from Toshakhana in assets and he should be disqualified under Article 62 (1) (F), which sets the precondition for a member of parliament to be “sadiq and ameen” (honest and righteous).
According to details, the opposition alliance filed a Toshakhana reference under Article 63 of the Constitution with the Election Commission.The reference pleaded with the electoral watchdog to disqualify Imran Khan in light of Article 62 (1)(f) of the Constitution. “Imran Khan is no more Sadiq and Amin (truthful and honest) as he did not declare the gifts received in Toshakhana,” the reference stated.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha submitted the reference to ECP under Article 63.
