LAHORE, Feb 24 (Online): Former Prime Minister (PM) and PPP leader Yousuf Raza Gillani has met former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif in Accountability Court (AC) here and discussed with him Senate polls and by polls in NA-75.

Yousuf Raza Gillani communicated the message of former president Asif Ali Zardari and chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Shahbaz Sharif. , Gillani also informed Shahbaz Sharif on strategy of senate polls. The meeting was attended by Hamza Shahbaz , Ayyaz Sadiq and spokesperson PML-N Maryam Aurangzeb.
Talking to media men Gillani said when I was PM, Shahbaz Sharif was chief minister in Punjab and then our working relations were very good.
He held he met Mian Shahbaz Sharif for the sake of supremacy of parliament. The democratic forces will emerge successful in Senate polls. We have already given surprise to the government.
PPP leader said the government tried to get disqualify him. Success of PDM in by polls is success of democracy.
He remarked “ parliament is supreme institution. We talk about the people. We gave respect to parliament and worked for its supremacy. When I was PM I did not allow any opportunity to come for any clash with the opposition . What amendment they are making through ordinance is before all of us.
He held we condemn horse trading. PDM is a reality.
He observed “ I am grateful to PDM that they made me their consensus candidate in Senate polls. We are right and all have seen the adventure of the government.
He stated he would meet Maryam Nawaz and Akhtar Mengal as well. Ups and down come in politics. We forgot the past and talked of moving ahead. We had united in the past for charter of democracy and today we are too with each other. We have done charter of democracy and we have now united again.
