PESHAWAR
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has delivered a consignment of relief goods for the five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as proactive measures to address the potential challenge of the upcoming monsoon season.
According to a spokesperson of the authority, PDMA KP has provided another batch of relief goods to five districts including DI Khan, Chitral Upper, Lakki Marwat, Toorghar, and Mohmand, to support the communities during the monsoon season.
He said that the decision was taken in line with the directions issued by the secretary of the relief, rehabilitation and settlement department Abdul Basit.
The relief items include 380 Tents, 800 Plastic Mats, 550 Blankets, 250 Quilts, 550 Mattresses, 500 Kitchen Sets, 700 Mosquito Nets, 150 Hygiene Kits, 350 Tarpaulin Sheets and various other essential items.
These relief items have been distributed based on the requirements communicated by the respective district administrations.
Secretary of Relief, Abdul Basit, emphasized the significance of these relief items in mitigating the impact during the monsoon season.
He stated, “We maintain close contact and coordination with all District Administrations and line departments to effectively respond to any emergency situation.
Furthermore, PDMA KP has a fully operational warehouse that stores additional relief items, ensuring a swift response in case of emergencies.
The warehouse operates round the clock to cater to the needs of affected communities.
