PDMA releases Rs29.64m for families returned from Afghanistan

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Friday released Rs29.64 million for the more than 6000 families of North-Waziristan and Khyber who recently returned from Afghanistan. According to a press release, the families will receive mobile messages in the next couple of days. Director General PDMA Sharif Hussain has said that funds have been released in the form of monthly cash assistance and ration, adding that Rs 8,000 per month would be given to each family of the districts. Assistance would be given to families after NADRA verification. According to the press release, this is the 96th tranche to be given to the victims of North Waziristan while it is the 10th tranche of ration funds to be given to the victims by the provincial government since the ration was stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic.
