KOHAT
The social and political circles have demanded reinstatement of Alizai feeder and a basic health unit for the mountainous Gabro area of Sherkot union council, which was inhibited some 40 years ago by the tribes from Orakzai Agency. Talking to this correspondent, district councillor Musawar Hussain also regretted that a notice of closure had been served on the sole primary school of the area under the policy where institutions with less than 50 students were being closed.
He said that there was no other school in the radius of five kilometers. He said that due to absence of roads and a bridge on the stream, which raged during rainy season, and melting of snow coming from Orakzai Agency for months they had to carry their patients on donkeys or cots. It takes five to six hours to reach the nearby main road of Kacha Pakha, he said. Mr Hussain said that building a bridge and providing the people with health and communication facilities would not be possible without the help of MPs. He stated that they had met several times with MPA Ziaullah Bangash, but he also could not resolve the problems.
