PESCO recovered 13b 97 crores from defaulters

Under the special supervision of Chief Executive Officer PESCO, Engineer Akhtar Hameed Khan, the process of recovery from defaulters is going on in the PESCO region and during the month of July to October this year, the PESCO teams showed commendable performance and collected 13 billion 97 crores from the defaulters.
Apart from this, 152 million rupees have also been collected from the owners of permanently disconnected connections for non-payment of electricity bills. According to the details, intensive operation against electricity theft and defaulters is going on in PESCO region and from July 2024 to October 2024, 19448 illegal connections have been disconnected, FIR’s have also been lodged against 6 thousand 835 electricity thieves and 1346 persons were arrested on the spot and handed over to the police. Apart from this, 13 billion 97 crores have been recovered from the defaulters and 152 million rupees have been recovered by carrying out a special operation against the owners of those connections which have been permanently disconnected for non-payment of electricity bills.
PESCO administration monitors day to day activities of Anti-Theft Operation due to which the line losses have decreased by 4% in the month of October while the recovery has increased by 5.4%.
