The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar on Thursday declared the results of part two of the intermediate examination. A statement issued here stated that a grand ceremony was held at the board office to mark the occasion.
Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai was the chief guest in the event.
Special Secretary education, Abdul Basit, Special Secretary Higher Education Sharif Hussain, Chairman Peshawar Board Khuda Bakhsh, Controller of Examinations Inamullah Shah, Secretary Mehdi Jan, along with teachers, parents, and a large number of students attended the event.
According to the results released by the board, a total of 62,322 students appeared in the annual examinations. Of these, 44,902 were declared successful, bringing the overall pass percentage to 72 percent. A total of 17,420 students were unable to clear the examinations.
In the Pre-Medical group, Alisha Urooj of a private college secured the first position by scoring 1,145 marks. Muhammad Hassan Mughal, also from a private college, came second with 1,139 marks, while Marwa Qaiser of Jinnah College secured the third position with 1,138 marks. In the Pre-Engineering group, Tooba Rauf of Jinnah College topped the group with 1,117 marks. Atiqa Laila of Jinnah College and Muhammad Haris Khan of Islamia College both secured second position by scoring 1,112 marks, while Aiman Tariq of Jinnah College claimed third position with 1,111 marks.
In the Computer Science group, all three top positions were secured by female students from private colleges. Samia Jahanzeb stood first with 1,132 marks, followed by Effat Qazi who scored 1,100 marks to take second position. Areesha Asif secured third position with 1,099 marks. In the Humanities (Arts) group, Ikramullah of a private college took the top position with 1,070 marks. Muhammad Hisham secured second place with 1,069 marks, and Hafiza Kainat came third with 1,066 marks.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai congratulated the board, students, teachers, and parents for the transparent conduct of the examinations. He appreciated the cooperation of the district administration, media, and law enforcement agencies in ensuring a smooth examination process. He also announced that the provincial government will continue to introduce reforms to make the examination system more transparent and efficient.
The minister highlighted that new examination halls will be constructed across the province, especially in merged districts. He said that schools were being equipped with furniture, whiteboards, and solar energy systems.
Tarakai reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to education and health, which remain top priorities under the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan. He stated that the education budget has reached Rs. 364 billion this year. At the end of the ceremony, top-performing students were awarded prizes and cash rewards for their outstanding achievements.
