PESHAWAR: Dengue cases in Peshawar Division have declined significantly this year due to timely preventive measures, according to officials during a high-level review meeting chaired by Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud. The Commissioner Office on Sunday said, the meeting was attended by deputy commissioners, district health officers, entomologists, local government officials, health staff and representatives of relevant departments from Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber and Mohmand districts. Participants reviewed the implementation of the Dengue Action Plan 2026, the current dengue situation across the five districts, disease surveillance, indoor and outdoor larva monitoring, hospital preparedness, availability of medicines and equipment, anti-dengue spraying, public awareness campaigns, interdepartmental coordination and future strategies. Officials informed the meeting that the majority of the reported dengue cases involved individuals with a recent travel history to other districts or provinces. They added that the overall situation remains under control and that no dengue-related deaths have been reported in the division this year. APP
