Peshawar: Programme to empower youth, women through soft-skills launched

The Atomcamp, an ed-tech platform, in collaboration with IMSciences University Peshawar on Thursday launched Upskill Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Programme to empower women and youth by offering free courses in soft skills development.
The program is funded by the Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) under the foreign, commonwealth development office.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of the programme, Director IMSciences University Peshawar, Usman Ghani said that the program intends to equip youth, women and especially transgender persons with job-ready skills, fostering economic activities in the province.
He said that the initiative will serve as a gateway for trainees to accelerate their freelancing career, secure employment, or venture into entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to the overall growth of the KP region.
The program is designed to offer free courses in essential fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and web development.
Fizza Amjad, CEO of Atomcamp, on this occasion said that through the launched Upskill Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Programme to unlock boundless opportunities and promote soft skills among women and youth of the province.
He said that the programme is focused on soft skills development to enhance participant’s communication and collaboration abilities and prepare them for success in a diverse professional environment.
Taimur Khan, institution development expert at SEED, said the programme is an initiative that paves way for economic empowerment of women and youth and urged the students to take advantage of the program and equip themselves with soft skills for a bright future.
“Seed works closely with the government of KP to increase growth, employment and prosperity of the province,” he said and added that the programme holds the potential to address gender and youth disparities by fostering inclusiveness and diversity.
The event was attended by students of different universities of the province, media and professionals associated with the field of Information Technology.
