Peshawar wins Inter-Regional Women’s Karate Event

The thrilling competitions continued on the second day of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Games, organized under the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the women’s karate event held at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex, Charsadda, Peshawar secured first position by winning 6 gold and 2 silver medals. Kohat’s team claimed second place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, while the Hazara region finished third with 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.
The chief guest at the closing ceremony, Additional DG Sports Ms. Rashida Ghaznavi, distributed prizes among the players. She was accompanied by Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal, Senior Vice President of the Karate Association Khalid Noor, Secretary Chaudhry Asim, former DSO Tahseenullah,coach Nazia , and District Sports Officer Charsadda, Ms. Mashal Malik.
In women’s cricket at the Secondary Board Ground, Peshawar defeated Malakand by 20 runs. Peshawar batted first and scored 65 runs in the allotted overs, while Malakand’s team managed only 45 runs in reply. In another match, Mardan defeated Kohat by eight wickets.
In basketball, Hazara defeated Malakand with a score of 20-0. In the women’s squash competition at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, Peshawar won against Mardan in the first semifinal, while Hazara defeated Bannu in the second semifinal. The final will be played today.
In women’s badminton, Bannu defeated Kohat, Mardan won against Malakand, and Hazara overcame Dera Ismail Khan. All three matches ended with a 2-0 scoreline.
In the women’s basketball event held at the Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Ground, Peshawar and Hazara teams reached the final. In the first semifinal, Peshawar easily defeated Kohat by 54 points to zero, while Hazara secured victory against Bannu. The final will be played today.
In the women’s athletics javelin throw competition, Bannu’s Saiqa claimed first place with a throw of 32.60 meters, Aiman secured second place with 30.9 meters, and Salma took third place with a throw of 27.10 meters.
