A petition on Tuesday was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan challenging life time ban on former Prime Minister and PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif.
According to media reports, petition was filed through Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Ahsan Bhoon and the federal government has been made party in the petition.
The petition prayed the court to apply the rule of lifetime disqualification only in electoral disputes. The plea also sought interpretation of Article 184 and Article 99.
Supreme Court had disqualified former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from holding public office in a landmark decision on the Panama Papers case back in 2017.
