RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi conducted a crackdown against the adulteration mafia on Friday, disposing of 1,000 liters of water-contaminated milk on the spot and imposing a collective fine of Rs 287,000.0 on 14 supply vehicles. According to a PFA spokesperson, the operation was carried out by establishing checkpoints at the Motorway and Mandra toll plazas to inspect milk entering Rawalpindi. The spokesperson highlighted that the timely action prevented substandard milk from reaching consumers, protecting thousands of citizens from health hazards.
The PFA reiterated that daily monitoring and sampling at entry points would continue to guarantee the supply of safe milk across the city. The authority also urged citizens to register complaints regarding food adulteration via its helpline 1223.
