Chairman of the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF), Faheem ur Rehman Saigol, along with Senior Vice Chairman Nasrullah Mughal and Vice Chairman Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, congratulated the nation on the 27th anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests, commemorated as Youm-e-Takbeer, and paid tribute to the country’s armed forces and nuclear scientists for making the defense of Pakistan invincible.
While addressing a press conference here at PIAF Office today, Faheem ur Rehman Saigol stated that 28th May is a landmark day in the history of Pakistan, when the country became a recognized nuclear power. Pakistan demonstrated its unwavering commitment to national security by responding to India’s five nuclear tests with six of its own, clearly signaling to the world that the sovereignty and independence of Pakistan are non-negotiable.
The PIAF leadership emphasized that Pakistan is a peaceful nuclear state, but at the same time, the country must now focus on building a strong, self-sufficient, and resilient economy. Saigol noted that just as Pakistan made its defense invincible through scientific innovation and strategic resolve, it is now time to win the economic war through unity, industrial growth, and support for the business community.
He said that the business community of Pakistan salutes the sacrifices of the martyrs and the contributions of the scientists who played a vital role in making the country a nuclear power. “Our nation’s nuclear capability is a symbol of pride and safety, but today, economic strength has become just as critical as military strength. A secure and prosperous Pakistan must be supported by both defense and a flourishing economy,” said Faheem ur Rehman Saigol.
Nasrullah Mughal and Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry echoed these sentiments, stating that Pakistan’s defense rests not only in its ability to deter external threats but also in its capacity to create jobs, increase exports, and stabilize the economy. “The time has come for all sectors, especially the business community, to stand united and work for economic revival,” they said.
They emphasized that a strong economy is the backbone of a strong defense. While Pakistan has proven its capability on the strategic front, the country must now turn its focus towards winning the economic battle, reducing dependency on external support, and building sustainable industries. They stressed that government policies must favor investment, ease of doing business, and exports, to truly unlock the potential of Pakistan’s industrial and commercial sectors.
Faheem ur Rehman Saigol added that the business community is ready to play its role in national development and stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and policymakers. “Just like we stood together to secure our borders, we must now unite to secure our economy. The future of Pakistan depends on strong industries, robust trade, and continuous economic reforms.”
The PIAF leadership concluded their message by urging the government to provide a supportive environment to the business sector so that Pakistan can achieve true economic independence. “Let Youm-e-Takbeer also be a reminder that just as we safeguarded our sovereignty through unity and resolve, we must now protect our economic future with the same spirit and determination,” they said.
