Plazas without parking spaces to face action, says CTO

An important meeting held here on Saturday with Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Zahidullah in the chair, reviewed the overall management of the traffic in the provincial capital.
The meeting was attended by SP Headquarters Sajjad Khan, SP Cantt Arshad Khan, DSPs and Traffic Wardens.
According to a statement, during the meeting, CTO Peshawar Dr Zahidullah was briefed by the traffic officials regarding parking in the plazas.
The chair was informed that at some places of Peshawar, the basements of the plazas are being used for commercial purposes and roads for parking purposes.
Dr Zahidullah directed the concerned authorities to immediately issue notices to the owners to ensure parking in the plazas and ensure its implementation.
He said that citizens face problems owing to parking outside the plazas which is violation of traffic rules and regulation and a punishable offense under Article 105,103 Police Act 2017 and Sections 283/290/PPC.
Traffic police chief said that legal action will be taken against those who violate the government orders and no one will be allowed to take lawn into their hands.
CTO directed the traffic authorities to keep a check and balance after issuing the warning notices so that no violation occurs and the traffic system is not disturbed.
