Seeks medical board recommendations
ISLAMABAD
Islamabad High Court (IHC) while announcing reserved judgment on the petition seeking shifting Imran Khan to Shifa hospital has rejected plea for shifting him from jail.
The court however has ordered to constitute new medical board and arrange meeting of Imran Khan with his family and lawyers.
The court directed chief commissioner to constitute medical board. Directives have also been issued for arranging meeting of lawyers and family with Imran Khan.
The court has ordered to include Dr Arif and Dr Nadim Qureshi in the medical board saying Dr Nadim Qureshi will remain in contact with the family.
The court has said in the decision medical board will send its recommendations to chief commissioner. On the recommendations of medical board decision for shifting Imran Khan to hospital will be taken.
IHC larger bench decision in connection with meeting with family and lawyers be implemented.
The court had reserved judgment after arguments.
Advocate General Islamabad gave reply to replies.
Sardar Latif Khosa took the plea PTI founder is complaining regarding sight of right eye since October. Jail doctors took the check up normal. He was shifted to PIMS when the sight was nearly lost. During it family lawyers were not informed.
The court said let Khosa Sahb talk first.
Advocate General Islamabad was directed to review medical reports and decisions.
Referring to jail rules and old former decisions Sardar Latif Khosa said we are gravely concerned over the health and life of PTI founder and immediate care is needed.
The court directed the respondents to continue arguments.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir inquired he (Nawaz Sharif) was given relief in what case there.
AG Islamabad Ayyaz Shaukat replied it was a writ petition.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said matter will be decided as per law. If the prisoner is not satisfied then what will happen.
AG Islamabad said satisfaction of medical officer is necessary and not of prisoner.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir said you are providing him treatment.. Give access to the personal doctors. Treatment is going on. Government is acknowledging.
Aleema Khan said they don’t speak the truth and continue to lie the whole day long.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir inquired was medical check up of PTI founder got done before February 16.
