PM meets Türkiye’s President Erdogan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Baku during his two-day official visit to the Central Asian country.
The two leaders reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, reported state-run PTV.
During the meeting, the premier emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to transforming its longstanding fraternal relations with Türkiye into a broad partnership encompassing political, defense, economic, trade, investment, and people-to-people links.
The two also agreed that a Turkish ministerial delegation would visit Pakistan soon. They also agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues of “mutual concern and reiterated their shared desire to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the broader Muslim world”.
The prime minister, accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, also extended warm congratulations to President Erdogan and the brotherly people of Türkiye on the occasion of Türkiye’s Republic Day.
Later, the prime minister departed Baku for Islamabad.
