ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif has imposed ban on use of high octane fuel in government vehicles.
In the perspective of continuity of decision of increase in petroleum levy on high octane fuel the PM while taking an important decision has slapped ban on use of high octane fuel in government vehicles. It stands implemented with immediate effect.
It has been said in the statement stringent ban is there on use of high octane at government expenses. If its use becomes unavoidable in any department then the respective government officer will have to pay its price out of his own pocket for its use in vehicle.
All the federal departments, authorities and subsidiaries have been directed to implement these orders with immediate effect.
Its objective is ensuring the use of national resources in effective, transparent and responsible way at every cost.
It may be mentioned 50 percent cut in use of fuel in government vehicles has already been made and 60 percent vehicles have been grounded.
The saving to be accrued from these steps will be spent on providing relief to the people and providing inexpensive oil to them.
