PMA announcement to end polio boycott and protest schedule

MARDAN: The Paramedical Association Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa withdrew the decision of boycotting the polio campaign started from 19 June and protest camps as a goodwill gesture after meeting with the Health advisor. It was stated in a press statement issued by Sharafatullah Yousafzai, president of the association. It was further stated in the statement that a delegation of paramedics headed by Sharafatullah Yousafzai included by provincial general secretary Luqman Gul, additional general secretary Shams-ul-Taj, senior vice president Anwar Khan, vice president Muhammad Zakir, Taj Muhammad, former provincial president Rudad Shah, Siraj Barki and other meet with the health advisor Riaz Anwar on Friday. The issue of appointment of a non-paramedic at Allied health faculty was discussed with the health advisor. The delegation told the advisor that the majority of the paramedics of the province are upset from this appointment because it is the right of paramedics and doctors to be appointed to this post. The delegation also discussed other issues of paramedics. The health adviser assured the delegation that the issues of paramedics will be solved on priority basis. Correspondent
Later on after the meeting the paramedical association Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa announced to withdraw the decision of boycotting the polio campaign starting from 19 June and protest camps as a goodwill gesture. However the decision about the 22nd June protest at Peshawar will be decided later on.
