PMD forecasts rain, gusty winds in KP districts until Saturday

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting intermittent rain, gusty winds, and thundershowers in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Thursday (today) to Saturday. According to PMD advisory issued on Wednesday, a weather system is expected to affect the districts include Dir, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Lower Dir, Buner, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Mohmand, Khyber, North and South Waziristan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu, and Kurram. The department has advised farmers to take precautionary measures to protect standing crops and minimize potential damage from hail and strong winds. Tourists and travelers have been urged to avoid unnecessary movement during the forecast period due to the risk of hazardous weather conditions in hilly and vulnerable areas. Authorities have been directed to remain on alert and ensure all necessary preventive and emergency arrangements are in place to avoid any untoward incidents. DLP Report
