Work on Four New Tourist Sites Underway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Punjab Still Relying on Murree Built during British Era: Muzzammil Aslam, Trade Deficit Rises By 16% in One Month Reaching 3.34 Billion Dollars: Muzzammil Aslam
Peshawar
Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Finance and Interprovincial Coordination, Muzzammil Aslam has said that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) could not provide even a single tourist destination to the 130 million people of Punjab during its five terms in power. Murree is the only tourist spot the entire Punjab and that too was built by the British.
The finance advisor said that in contrast, there are many tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the current provincial government is working on four new tourist destinations. Muzzammil Aslam said that Thandiani and Ganool in are soon going to be launched for development.
Muzzammil Aslam further said that the forests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also serve as excellent tourist locations, and that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 27% forest and tree cover, while Punjab doesn’t even have 4%. He added that the provincial government is going to build the country’s largest wildlife park.
The advisor said that the Chief Minister Punjab is still preoccupied with looking for a WiFi device and mobile charger, while opportunities for recreation and quality family time are only available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In another statement regarding Pakistan’s imports and exports, Muzzammil Aslam said that Pakistan’s trade is moving in reverse.
The country’s exports in September were limited to 2.5 dollars billion, which is 12% lower than the same month last year.
Muzzammil Aslam said that on the other hand, imports have increased by 14%, which has caused the trade deficit to rise by 16% in a single month, reaching 3.34 billion dollars. He said that despite this, the Form 47 government is making claims of improvement in the economy and trade.
