Pakistan Navy Ship SAIF visited the Port of Male, Republic of Maldives, as part of its ongoing overseas deployment, where it received a warm welcome from Maldivian authorities.
During the visit, Mission Commander Commodore Muhammad Zeshan Nabi Sheikh called on Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy and Commandant of Maldives Coast Guard Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem. He also met with Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Maldives, Vice Admiral (R) Faisal Rasul Lodhi. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, maritime security, and enhanced naval cooperation. The Mission Commander conveyed warm wishes from the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, to the people of Maldives.
A reception was also held onboard PNS SAIF, attended by government officials, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani community. The ship later conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Maldives Coast Guard vessels, aimed at boosting operational coordination and maritime interoperability.
Regular goodwill visits by Pakistan Navy ships underscore the deep-rooted bilateral ties between Pakistan and Maldives and reaffirm the shared commitment to regional maritime security and cooperation.
